It looks like Titan Reach is steadily inching closer to its Early Access launch with a series of small updates which includes setting up the indie MMO’s server infrastructure in preparation for the big day.

“We are now all setup ready to launch and update our servers quickly and easily,” wrote Square Root Studios in their latest dev blog. Square Root added that the status of each server can be viewed on Discord, which, as of now, seems to be for the developers’ eyes only.

The developers are also working on new leather armor sets, steel tools, improved skilling (crafting) stations and their sound effects, and a new UI. They’ve also built an NPC Creator that will allow the devs to easily pump out NPCs to populate the world in time for Early Access. You can check that out in the video all the way down at the bottom of this post.

Titan Reach first appeared on our radars in when it launched a $430,000 Kickstarter campaign in September 2020. The game failed to reach the required funding goal which eventually lead to threats of a potential shut down due to lack of funds.

The post was followed by a controversial blog post in February where Square Root revealed that their staff were underpaid and were working on the game out of passion. The studio later amended the blog saying that it was a misunderstanding and that it was supposed to say that their employees were only allowed to work a maximum of 40 hours a week due to budget constraints. Any overtime hours accrued were unpaid and were done “out of passion.”

Titan Reach was initially scheduled to launch into a limited pre-alpha in February 28 but has been pushed back indefinitely to give the team more time to work on the game. “We’re sorry again about the delay to Early Access, however it was necessary in order to get the game into a state we were happy to release,” said Square Root.
