It’s been a big week for the video game community with several gaming expos, conventions, and showcases happening within days of each other. But, it looks like the announcements are far from over as Iron Gate Studios and Coffee Stain Publishing reveal their plans to launch Valheim, presumably into Early Access, on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in spring 2023.

The Viking-themed survival MMO will also be to the Microsoft Store this fall with cross-play support between consoles when the console version launches next year.

“Both the upcoming Microsoft Store and Xbox console releases will have full crossplay support on launch, allowing Vikings to build, fight and survive together in the dangerous Norse afterlife, whether they’re playing on Steam, Microsoft Store or console.”

Iron Gate has also partnered with development studios Piktiv and Fishlabs who will be in charge of development for the Microsoft Store and Xbox versions. According to Iron Gate, this will allow them to focus on the development of Valheim’s core mechanics and experiences and major updates to the game.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting on the exact launch date for the Mistlands update which the team says is coming later this year.
