Warframe Adds Steam Controller And Workshop Support

In addition to Movember, it seems that Digital Extremes have made November Warframe's Steam month. Today, the team announced that they have added Steam Controller and Workshop support to the game. Considering the flexibility that the Steam Controller is boasting, without actually playing Warframe today, I couldn't tell you what "Steam Controller support" means. My hope is that they've added the ability to use the touchpads directly, rather than forcing users to emulate another form of input.

Workshop support has been added alongside Steam Controller support. You can now head over to the Workshop page and vote on various weapons and warframe skins that you would like to see in-game. Those voted up enough to be accepted as an addition to the game will be found here. The items that get added to the game will be put up for sale through the Workshop with the original creators getting a competitive 30% cut, rivaling Steam's default cut by 5%. While they have yet to be added—and thus, the prices have yet to be announced—you can find the first set of user-made items being added to the game here. This system of user-created content is closer in form to Trove than Neverwinter. Users will be able to make models that decide the look and name of a new item while the developers will ultimately decide the finer details, such as stats.

Additionally, Digital Extremes is running a TennoGen contest over at Polycount. The winning designs will be put up on the Workshop with the 30% revenue share and will receive a guaranteed $500 within the first three months of release. This contest will run until December 1, 2015.
