Wargaming Forms Mobile Division WG Cells

Following the success of World of Tanks Blitz, Wargaming have decided to form a mobile division that they are calling WG Cells. This new division will be led by Marat Karpeko, a "Wargaming management team veteran," and David Bluhm, the former CEO of DropForge Games. WG Cells currently has studios in Kyiv and Seattle—the latter is being headed by Bluhm—with more studios planned to open in "key regional mobile markets" in order to "fully capitalize on the rapid and unprecedented growth of the mobile gaming sector."

According to the CEO of Wargaming, Victor Kislyi, “Wargaming is committed to developing a strong mobile gaming business as one of our major pillars of our corporate strategy.” According to Kislyi, Wargaming "understand that the mobile market is massive and has even greater potential. WG Cells allows [them] to take advantage of this market, provide great games and expand [their] product scope.”

The new mobile division's portfolio already includes three games. These are Loot and Legends, Fantastic Plastic Squad, and Smash Squad. Loot and Legends—DropForge's mobile adaptation of Card Hunter—is currently out on the App Store while the others are planned to launch in the near future.
