Races

Nebula Online Races

Nebula Online features three unique races.

Humans were created when a comet crashed into the planet of Teer, causing chemical reactions that lead to the formation of amino acids. After centuries of slowed advancement due to a refusal to decide on a single, universal language, they have finally found their way into the space age. They have now begun to cooperate and respect each other as they seek a new life in the stars above.

Borguzands were born when a small object drifting through space gathered rocks and dust, ultimately forming a new planet. This strong race appeared out of thin air as suddenly as the planet did. Over time, they came to find a universal ideal, but they are naturally aggressive and cult-like, leading to regular conflict.

Kriptizids are the oldest race in all of the universe. They were born on a small asteroid in a small galaxy. From the time they were born, they had an innate level of intelligence that lead them to become scholars. They studied many things and eventually mastered space travel. After searching for life and finding none, they held a council that would ultimately decide to put the entire race in a state of hibernation. Recently awakened, the Kriptizids now keep to themselves and do not reveal anything that they are not required to.

Classes

Nebula Online Classes

Nebula Online features four classes of ship that take on vastly different roles.

  • The Sniper - a long range, high damage class with low health and high speed. Snipers are optimized for fighting at a distance.
  • The Tank - a short range, low damage class with high health and medium speed. Tanks are optimized for taking damage.
  • The Engineer - a medium range, low damage class with low health and medium speed. Engineers are optimized for repairing other ships in battle.
  • The Trooper - a medium-high range, high damage class with low health and high speed. Troopers are optimized for dealing damage.

Development History / Background:

Nebula Online is a sci-fi sandbox MMORPG created by the Russian developer Mizar Games. It was first unveiled on February 3, 2015 when it launched on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight. During this time, it was announced that the game would be a buy-to-play game priced at $60 with no other hidden costs. Nebula Online's Kickstarter was later canceled on March 13, 2015 with only $11,160 of its $130,000 goal raised. Despite the failed Kickstarter, Nebula Online was greenlit on April 16, 2015. Mizar Games then went dark for some time before resurfacing on December 6, 2015 when they announced that Nebula Online had launched on the Russian Google Play Store as a free-to-play title. On December 16, 2015, the game launched on the Google Play Store, Amazon App Store, Facebook, and their own website worldwide as a free-to-play title. It later launched on Steam Early Access as a $4.99 title. The iOS version launched on January 12, 2016 for the same price. On February 8, 2016, the price on iOS and Steam was raised to $14.99. The game shut down in 2017 after failing to attract a sizable audience.
