The Clock Tower: Fate/Grand Order GUDAGUDA Honnoji Guide

Hello everyone! Welcome to MMOS.com's first entry in an ongoing series about TYPE-MOON's Online Mobile RPG, Fate/Grand Order! In this episode I'll be guiding you on how to most take advantage of the Fate/GUDAGUDA Honnoji event that includes a free 4 ★ Servant, Oda Nobunaga the Demon Lord herself. If you're unable to read Japanese fear not—with this guide you will be able to navigate the limited time event with ease.

The event features characters from Strange Tales of the Imperial Holy Grail of Fate/KOHA-ACE with Demon Archer Oda Nobunaga and Sakura Saber Okita Souji as the featured characters. You'll be able to play through a unique storyline and collect points and tokens that grant special rewards like rare ascension items, normally unobtainable ascension items, and even unlocking Oda Nobunaga for free.

In order to participate in the event you simply need to log in between now and the 9th of December and check out the Chaldea Gate which will include brand new Event Storyline Quests and Free Quests:

Inside the Chaldea Gate you'll see the Honnoji Storyline Quests and Free Quests which are marked by a Red Flame icon. Your main story quest will be at the top and will have a Saint Quartz as a reward. You'll want to complete all of these main quests first before continuing, in the end you'll be rewarded with a RENTAL Oda Nobunaga 4★ Servant, a few Saint Quartz, and a Golden Ticket. A warning message will pop up when receiving Oda Nobunaga which exists to inform you that she is a rental and that you will lose any progress you have on her if you do not meet the Honnoji Point threshold.

Event Currencies & Boosters

After clearing the Event Quests you'll be ready to farm up the four different currencies of the event:  Tsukumogami Nasu (Gourds), Youhen Tenmoku Chawan (Bowls), Hiragumo (Kettles) and Honnoji Points. The first three tokens are used to purchase various items from Da Vinci's Event shop, including rare and normally unobtainable ascension materials, stat boost cards, and exp cards. Of the items in Da Vinci's shop Golden Skulls will be your primary concern as they are the ONLY way to ascend Oda Nobunaga. In total you will need four Golden Skulls which are purchasable for a grand total of 200 Gourds, 200 Bowls, and 400 Kettles.

Honnoji Points automatically grant rewards when passing certain thresholds. At 100,000 points your current rental Oda Nobunaga will transform into a permanent one. Additional Nobunaga cards can be obtained at 250,000 HP, 450,000 HP, 700,000 HP and 1 million HP which can be merged to increase the strength of her Noble Phantasm ultimate skill—Three Thousand Worlds.

At this point you'll want to make a choice if you intend on purchasing most of the items from the Da Vinci shop or if you intend on only working on maxing out Oda Nobunaga (which is only possible during this event). If you intend on only maxing Nobunaga, I suggest you purchase the GUDAO CE to maximize Honnoji Points. As with previous events equipping an Event Craft Essence will increase your drop rates. A new mechanic was also added for this Event in which Servants used during battle can also increase your Honnoji Point and item gain. Below you can see the modifiers:

  • Equip the Launch Order! 4★ Craft Essence (obtainable through Grand Summon)
• +1 Kettle Drops
  • Equip the GUDAGUDA Poster Girl 5★ Craft Essence (obtainable through Grand Summon)

If you intend on collecting as many of the rare and normally unavailable ascension items as possible I highly recommend you do not purchase the CE and instead focus on leveling your Nobunaga as fast as possible while only purchasing Golden Skulls in order to further ascend her. If you were lucky enough to roll Okita Souji you could do the same for her—the reasoning behind this is an early investment in clear time which will make Free Quests much easier to farm. You'll want to befriend and use any players that have your target item booster Craft Essence on their leader character, which will allow you to use them to gain the boosted rates. You won't be needing the Honnoji Point Booster Craft Essences because you already have a long farm ahead of you and will most likely obtain all the Honnouji Points you need before grabbing all of the shop items.

One thing to take note of is your team composition and levels as well. Sometimes an extra 20% from having Cu, Benkei, Medusa, Mephistopheles and Ushiwakamaru is not worth the absence of a high level 5★ that you might have on the bench. Remember that Honnoji Point gain is not the only factor, clear time is also important!

Golden Quests

There is a Daily Golden Quest that appears that can be completed once per day and resets at 7 AM PST. This quest is easy and can be completed with a skeleton team of Honnoji Point Booster servants. You'll want to maximize your Honnoji Point gain for this one as the quest will drop around 5-6 times the amount as the 40 AP Free Quest. Doing these daily will ensure an easy road to maxing out Nobunaga's Noble Phantasm.

Riding E: Increases damage of unit's Quick cards by 2%

Reduced Earth B: Increases unit's Quick card damage (30-50%) for 1 turn. 7 turn Cooldown.

Weak Constitution A: Increases unit's critical chance pull for 1 turn (500-1000%) for 1 turn. 7 turn Cooldown.

Eye of the Mind (False) A: Evades all incoming attacks for 1 turn and increases unit's critical damage (20%-40%) for 3 turns. 8 turn Cooldown.

 

-Noble Phantasm-

Mumyou Sandan-Zuki ~ "Three-Stage Thrust" A (Anti-Unit Quick):  Deals heavy damage to a single target that ignores defense (1200%-2000% ATK Power) and reduces defense for three turns based on charge (30%-50%).

-Comments-

Okita Souji is a very solid anti-boss Saber. She unleashes extremely heavy single-target damage due to her ultimate and is great at taking advantage of teams that cater to her crit-centric skills. Sakura Saber is also great at creating critical stars with 2 Quick cards that strike 5 times each and her high base crit generation. Whenever you have 15 or more crit stars and Okita Souji cards in hand try comboing Weak Constitution A and Eye of the Mind (False) A for a devastating strike. The Captain of the Shinsengumi is offensively oriented and gains her Noble Phantasm much faster through strikes than being struck.

Artistically she has three different sprites with a drastically different look with her first sprite compared to her second and third. Her attacks have some of the best animations that the game has to offer with completely unique Saber attack animations. For those of you who are anime fans she is voiced by Aoi Yuuki who you might have heard as Madoka in Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Yuuki from Sword Art Online.

Independent Action B: Unit's Critical Damage Increased By 8%

Magic Resistance B: Increases Unit's resistance to debuffs by 17.5%

-Active Skills-

Tactics B: Increases allied Noble Phantasm Charge Rate (20%-30%) for 3 turns.  8 turn Cooldown

Tenka Fubu A: Increases Unit's damage against enemies with the Divinity trait for 1 turn. (50%-100%). 7 turn Cooldown.

Demon King A: Increases Unit's critical chance pull (300%-600%) and critical damage (20%-50%) for 3 turns. 7 turn Cooldown.

-Noble Phantasm-

Three Thousand Worlds ~ "Three Line Formation" E~A (Anti-Army Buster):  Deals damage to all enemies (300%-500%), dealing extra damage to enemies that have the Riding skill (150%-200%) based on charge.

-Comments-

Oda Nobunaga is a niche Archer due to her 2nd ability Tenka Fubu A only striking enemies with Divinity. Don't let that deter you from using her however, she is still a free 4★ Servant that has the ability to give your entire team a "Golden Rule"-like Noble Phantasm charging buff. This makes her great in a team of Servants that need a bit of help building up their Noble Phantasm in the 1st and 2nd waves. Also don't forget about her Demon King A ability which makes her great as an alternate crit-er in a team that can build the Crit Stars for her. She also has an interesting niche Anti-Army Buster Noble Phantasm that is strong against those with the Riding trait which is very welcome considering the fact that Assassins (who are strong against Riders) don't normally have Anti-Army Noble Phantasms, let alone a Buster-type one. She pairs great with Okita Souji.

Her character voice is an easily recognizable one. Kugimiya Rie also voices Happy from Fairy Tail, Louise from Familiar of Zero and Taiga from Toradora. Unfortunately as a free character her sprite art does not change and her card only changes at her final ascension, but she does have unique combat animations as she materializes single shot muskets to fire and discard—clear references to Puella Magi Madoka Magica's Mami Tomoe.

New Craft Essences

GUDAGUDA Poster Girl 5★

Increases Unit's damage by 60% and taunts enemies to attack the Unit for three turns. Automatically triggers when the Unit appears on the battlefield. Limit Break increases the damage up to 80%.

-Commentary-

Great card for tanks like Jeanne of Arc and good against trash mobs... thats about it. Gives +1 Kettles during the event though! Obtained from Event Grand Summon.

 

Gudao 5★

Increases critical attack damage and damage of Unit's Noble Phantasm by 15%. Limit Break increases Honnoji Point gain to 60% (Thanks Sturm!)

-Commentary-

Strange combination. I wouldn't use it pretty much ever with such a niche increase. It does grant 30% bonus Honnoji Points for the event which makes it great for daily Gold Quests. It can be purchased from Da Vinci's event shop and can be obtained from a random Free Quest drop (for luckerdogs only).

 

 

Launch Order 4★

Increases Quick Card and Buster Card performance by 10%. Limit Break increases the effect to 15%.

-Commentary-

Not too bad for characters with 2x Quick / 2x Buster loadouts like Okita. Good to use if you don't have Kaleidoscope or Petit Devil and it gives +1 Bowls for the event. Obtained from Event Grand Summon

 

Fate GUDAGUDA Order 3★

 

Increases Quick/Arts/Buster Card Performance, Critical Pull Rate/Star Rate/damage, Noble Phantasm accumulation/damage and Debuff rate/resistance by 1%. Limit Break increases this to 2%

-Commentary-

Why would you ever use this? This card has great art but the effect is so indecisive that its useless even when Limit Broken. At least it grants you +1 Gourds for the event. Obtained from Grand Summon and Event Storyline Quest.
