It’s been four months since Studio Wildcard first announced that it was remastering ARK: Survival Evolved as ARK: Survival Ascended, an entirely separate game with an entirely separate buy-in price. The game was initially supposed to launch in August but was delayed to this October with just one map instead of two.

It’s now mid-September, and with just a few weeks away until the turn of the month, we’ve yet to get an actual look at the game. This has naturally caused fans to doubt Studio Wildcard’s release window for the remaster, but it looks like it’s still on track for release next month according to the studio’s latest newsletter.

In the meantime, the team is running yet another creature design contest for ARK: Survival Ascended, this time for a creature that will inhabit the Extinction map which will presumably be launching sometime after Q1 2024. Voting for the new creature design will begin on September 18th and will end on September 22nd.

Customer support for ARK: Survival Evolved will also end on September 29th at 1:00 p.m. PDT, followed by the final server wipes for the Beginner and ARKpocalypse servers on September 30th.
