Black Desert Online Gets More Chat Ban Changes, New Cash Shop Items, St. Patrick's Day Event

One of the largest points of contention in Black Desert Online so far has been the discount item spam that is slowly overtaking Channel chat. Some days, it feels as if, for every gold spammer you block, another three take its place. The problem has been exacerbated by the fact that requesting a chat ban cost an absurd 30 energy and did not do nearly enough. With today's patch, Daum has reduced the cost of requesting a chat ban to 15 energy and increased the chat ban duration. At the same time, however, they have introduced a Megaphone that allows you to broadcast to the entire server, rather than just one cluster, for only 100 Loyalty points.

The patch also introduces several new cash shop items. The Splat Fisher's Clothes have been added for 2200 Pearls, giving players a fishing skill buff in exchange for dressing like a fish. A German Shepard pet with the same enemy detection ability as other dogs has been added for the regular price of 900 Pearls. You can now purchase a family name change for 1000 Pearls, but each account can only get two.

Witches and Wizards have seen some balance changes. Damage dealt to frozen opponents has been raised to 20%. Additionally, they can "no longer accidentally resurrect opponents," meaning that we can no longer repeatedly resurrect and kill red players.

Events have been fairly light and oddly focused on posting screenshots of various activities on the forums, but Daum is currently running a St. Patrick's Day event that only requires players to log in and collect their reward from the Rewards panel. All players who do so will net themselves a single Green Dye Box, two Green Firecrackers, and three Beers.

As an added bonus, from now until March 22nd, you can get a single Green Dye Bundle per family for only 1 Loyalty point. All further Green Dye Bundles will cost only 80 Pearls for the duration of the event.
