Black Desert Online Heidel Ball Q&A Part 3 Dives Into Conquest Wars, PvP, And New Regions

black desert online 4th anniversary bannerIt’s been more than two months since Pearl Abyss hosted the Black Desert Online Heidel Ball at Home but it seems that the developers still aren’t done answering all the questions sent in during the event. Today, the studio has just published the third batch of unanswered questions from the digital event.

Of significant note are the changes being implemented in Conquest Wars in an effort to change up the caster-heavy meta. According to the devs, the Black Spirit Rage skills of casters and the Conquest War HP buff greatly increased the importance and effectivity of ranged classes during PvP battles.

“When we looked at the data for the past couple of months, we found that the kill/death ratio was on the high side for Ranger, Wizard, Sorceress, Tamer, and Witch,” explains the devs. “We examined several possible reasons and determined that the Black Spirit’s Rage skills had too much of an impact on Conquest War, so we’ve been adjusting some of these skills accordingly.”

The developers are also looking to shake up the current AP-focused meta in PvP. Since the release of the Succession update, players have put greater emphasis on AP over DP which results in shorter combat. The team says they’re looking at several options to increase DP importance including slowing down HP reduction to give players more time to react or putting a cap on received damage depending on the player’s DP.

Pearl Abyss also revealed their plans to add new regions with different rulesets, the details of which will be released some time in Winter or early next year. Also, if you’re one of those players asking for a firearm-wielding class, the devs say that they have “zero” plans to release one, but might reconsider in a couple of years. They, however, promise to add more “appropriate” classes in the future.
