Chronicles Of Elyria Is Still In Development Says Soulbound Studios In A New Video

chronicles of elyria nobility skeletonAfter shutting down Chronicles of Elyria earlier this year and facing legal action, Soulbound Studios is back with a new video assuring backers and the gaming community in general that the game is still in development.

Studio CEO and Founder Jeromy Walsh made the controversial announcement that they were shutting down the game back in March. Walsh said that the studio had run out of funds and that he had been forced to lay off all its employees. The announcement came just a few days after the game’s first pre-Alpha demo came out.

The announcement didn’t sit well with the game’s backers who had helped fund the game’s $1.3 million Kickstarter campaign and have pitched in over $8 million to date. These backers would later file a class action suit against Soulbound Studios and Xsolla, the studio’s third party payment processing company. Walsh, however, maintained that he is continuing to work on the game and that it had merely been delayed. His lawyer further claimed that Walsh is under no obligation to deliver the game until it’s ready.

In today’s video, Walsh says that several developers have been brought back in to work on the game and that the timelines and scope have been re-evaluated to get the product into backer’s hands as fast as possible.
