Sandbox MMORPG Darkfall: Rise of Agon is finally heading to Steam five years after it launched on PC and will soon be heading to closed beta on the platform. The Steam closed beat will be open to all accounts that have active premium time.

Alternatively, players can also purchase new supporter packages that Big Picture will be introducing soon. The studio will initially be releasing one supporter tier to replace the current ones and will come with unlimited premium access until the game’s Steam launch.

“Rewards in the form of game time, bonus tokens, special recognition etc. will be offered for those that are heavily involved, so I hope you all come nerd out with us as we build the next chapter of our beloved game!” said Big Picture.

Aside from a Steam launch, the Darkfall community can also look forward to various game improvements, including a 64-bit upgrade, alignment updates, proximity voice chat, fast travel, and race wars.

The team has also retired the game’s official forums saying that it’s no longer necessary with Discord readily available. “[…] We're going to be retiring our existing forums due to the rise of popularity and features that discord includes these days,” said the devs. “With discord's ability to have conversations daily and also have some more in depth discussions in various channels and threads plus bots and other tools there really isn't a purpose to a forum anymore.”

There’s currently no window for the game’s Steam launch but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear any news. You can also head over to the Darkfall: Rise of Agon official site for more info.
