Destiny 2 Players Cry Foul As Another Ban Wave Hits The PC

destiny 2 iron bannerDestiny 2 players are crying foul again after the shooter’s anti-cheat measure went on another PC banning spree over the weekend, reportedly flagging players for using innocuous third-party programs just like it did on PC launch day.

Community Manager Chris “Cozmo” Shannon promptly denied the reports on the official forums. “We looked into it,” says Cozmo. “Our recent wave of protective security measures were reviewed extensively and all were identified as having cheat tools running multiple times.” As expected, this prompted a slew of outraged replies asking Bungie for proof that they were cheating.

The issue is remarkably similar to the banning wave that hit PC players during launch day just two weeks ago. It can be remembered that a large number of players were also permabanned for using apparently harmless third-party programs like Discord and Nvidia GeForce Experience of all things. Bungie initially called these claims “internet BS” but later overturned an unrevealed number of bans after closer investigation.

We're all waiting to see how long it takes Bungie to overturn these bans this time around.
