Elite Dangerous players who’ve been left behind on the now-abandoned console version of the sci-fi MMORPG can now make the move to PC as Frontier Developments finally re-opens the console copy portal.

Using the portal, console players will be able to transfer their characters and part of their progress over to the PC version. As a reminder, you’ll only be able to transfer your character name (if it’s still available), credits, ships and modules installed on them, all stored modules, surface recon vehicles (SRVs), ship-launched fighters (SLFs), engineering materials, engineering and superpower reputation, military ranks, permits, codex discoveries, tech broker progress, and all liveries purchased using ARX.

Any remaining ARX balance, squad memberships, friends list, block lists, private groups, mission progress, fleet carriers, NPC crews, minor faction reputation, powerplay power, power affiliation and vouchers, and bookmarks will not be included in the transfer.

Frontier Developments says that they’ll be keeping the console copy portal open indefinitely and that players who decide to make the move to PC will get a free copy of the base game once the transfer process is complete.
