The London Science Museum is expanding their May the 4th Star Wars Day celebrations to include other sci-fi classics such as Star Trek and Doctor Who, along with a surprising new entry from the video game sector, in the form of Frontier Development’s space MMO – Elite Dangerous.

The developer will be hosting one of the event’s showcases where participants will get to meet members of the Elite Dangerous community and its developers and get to pilot a ship from the game. The event will also feature short story readings from famous sci-fi authors, a British sign language tour, and performances by the Ready Singer One choir who’ll be belting out renditions of popular songs from various sci-fi movies and TV shows.

The London Science Museum’s Star Wars Day celebration is part of a larger ongoing sci-fi exhibit that kicked off back in October and will be running until this August.

“Embark on an epic intergalactic adventure on 4 May to celebrate both the extension of our Science Fiction: Voyage to the Edge of Imagination exhibition and, of course, Star Wars Day,” announced the event’s organizers.

“Enjoy mind-expanding talks, otherworldly workshops and much more at our adults-only, after-hours night. As well as science fiction-themed fun, food and drink, and a chance to explore the galleries at night, all the regular Lates highlights will be here. Don’t miss our legendary pub quiz and the best silent disco in town.”

The event is free for sci-f fans 18 years and up and is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. BST. VIP tickets are also available for £10 a pop. More information can be found on the London Science Museum official site.
