Fortnite Battle Royale Hits The 7 Million Mark, Adds Duos And Supply Drops

fortnite soldier duoLast week, Fortnite debuted its free-to-play Battle Royale mode and recording a whopping 1 million players on the first night alone. Yesterday, that number has not only doubled, not even tripled, but septupled! (That’s x7 by the way.) Here’s the official Twitter announcement.

To make things more interesting, and probably to rake in more players, Epic Games has just introduced Duos and Supply Drops into the Battle Royale game mode. PvE-focused players needn’t worry though because the studio will also be rolling out the Horde Bash update later today.

The devs are also hard at work tweaking and fine-tuning the accuracy of weapons to force players to engage at closer distances as opposed to sniping someone with a pistol or resorting to camping. “Our goal is to provide a competitive experience without losing our unique playstyle and crazy over-the-top moments that Fortnite Battle Royale brings to the table,” says Epic. “We look forward to your help as we continue to hone the experience.”
