GameStop PowerUp Rewards Members Can Get A Free Copy Of Deformers

Ready At Dawn's physics-based arena brawler Deformers is launching in less than 24 hours and I'm betting that you'll want a free copy. No? What if I told you that it costs $29.99? Now you want the free copy, don't you?

Fortunately for you, there is a way to get a free copy. If you're a GameStop PowerUp Rewards member—you don't even have to be a paying member—then you can get a free copy by going here, entering either the email or phone number that you signed up for GameStop PowerUp Rewards with, and using the code "DEFORMERSGAME." I'm told that you can get both a PC and a PlayStation 4 code using one account, but I only opted for a PC code, myself.

If you're not currently a GameStop PowerUp Rewards member, there is one caveat: You can only sign up for the GameStop PowerUp Rewards program in stores. There is no way to sign up online.

It's unclear why GameStop would offer codes for an as-yet unreleased game for free—especially considering the fact that they're publishing it. That being said, it may simply be a way to incentivize the use of GameStop PowerUp Rewards.

Should you decide to grab a free copy of the game, servers are online right now—at least on PC. You can play the game as soon as you've downloaded it, albeit there are few players online right now. If you do manage to find a match, I highly recommend the Form Ball mode over Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch.

Those of you who are unable to get a copy of Deformers through this promotion can always pre-order the game from Steam for $29.99. It is set to go live today, April 20th, at 9 PM PDT.
