Heavy Gear Assault Is Headed To Steam Early Access On December 15th

Heavy Gear Assault has been around for some time now, having originally launched as a paid Alpha sometime last year. Since then, the game has progressed steadily, having received an additional $2 million in funding at the end of last year that the team estimated would "springboard" the game into release sometime this year.

While it is not launching this year, Heavy Gear Assault will be headed to Steam Early Access on December 15th. Few details about the Early Access version are available at this time, as the homepage of the official website has been replaced with a countdown timer and the Steam page is not yet live.

Stompy Bot Productions CEO Vince McMullin had the following to say about the announcement.

Heavy Gear® Assault found great support through our communities who shared their love and passion for the Heavy Gear franchise. Stompy Bot’s independence has enabled us to deliver an outstanding game, which is still closer to the characteristics of the mech genre than anyone has offered before. However, we’re not resting on our laurels and will continue our relationship with the community during Early Access, as we want their feedback as we roll out new features.

The Steam Early Access price has yet to be announced. That being said, the first 1000 people that sign up for the game's newsletter via the official website will get the game for free when it launches on Steam.
