Anduin Wrynn Officially Joins The Nexus In The Latest Heroes Of The Storm Update

heroes of the storm anduin castingAfter a short stint on the PTR, Anduin Wrynn has officially stepped into the Nexus with the latest Heroes of the Storm update. Stormwind’s Boy King will be fighting alongside his father, Varian and the rest of the World of Warcraft heroes and villains as a ranged healer with the ability to use the power of the Light both to heal allies and to deal damage to enemies.

“With Shalamayne by his side, Anduin, King of Stormwind, has entered the Nexus to take his place by his warrior father's side. Anduin is a Ranged Healer who comes with an arsenal of abilities aimed at keeping his teammates alive, but also has the potential to unleash the Light's swift justice to enemies on the battlefield.”

The latest update also introduces changes to the Battlefield of Eternity and the Volskaya Foundry maps. In Battlefield of Eternity, two new towers have been placed near each team’s Healing Wells. Punisher damage has also been tweaked to bring the three Punisher types closer in terms of damage. “Mortar is now a properly scary amount of damage up front, while Arcane had its damage reduced but maintains the highest damage over a long period of time,” says Blizzard. “Frozen has had structure disabled added to it, further encouraging teams to dive into enemy towns alongside him.”

The Volskaya Foundry maps on the other hand have had significant adjustments made to the Triglav Protector. Health and basic attack damage scaling has been tweaked to encourage players to use the Triglav Protector for pushing rather than team fights early in the game. The Swap Vehicle button has also been removed. “We believe that it has to has some teeth to discourage enemies from committing to a team fight when it pushes, but its capability to nuke someone from almost full health was a little too powerful,” adds the devs. “We’ve removed the Swap Vehicle button as well. While it was cool, it was a hold out from the previous undesired gameplay of a solo player controlling both seats of a vehicle that we discouraged via the Spell Power buff to both seats being occupied.”
