Highly-awaited cyberpunk VR MMO Zenith finally has an official launch date just over two years after its extremely successful Kickstarter campaign in 2019.

After teasing an early 2022 launch in December, indie developer Ramen VR has confirmed that the game, which they describe as the “largest online gaming world to ever hit virtual reality,” will officially be launching on Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, PlayStation VR, and Steam VR on January 27th.

“Zenith is a genre-defining VR game that challenges countless players to explore a gorgeous, anime-inspired, massively multiplayer online world. Its incredible potential stems from its multifaceted gameplay which artfully marries deep and satisfying RPG mechanics, expansive open-world exploration, thrilling action-adventure combat, and social systems like parties, friends, and guilds.”

The official press release promises over 100 hours of playable cross-platform content from day one. “Players will be taken from gritty cyberpunk cities to verdant plains and barren but gorgeous deserts, and they’ll be able to play with countless other players across all major VR platforms,” said Ramen VR CTO Lauren Frazier.

A non-VR version will also be launching sometime in the future with its own Alpha and Beta phases. For now, the team says that they’ll be focusing on the VR version of the game.

In the meantime, the team has kicked off one more round of closed beta testing before the game officially hits the digital shelves later this month. Don’t forget to check out the brand new launch announcement trailer below for another look at Zenith’s colorful virtual reality world.
