Last Oasis Temporarily Goes Offline As Developers Work To Fix Server Bottleneck Issues

last oasis two explorers bannerWhen it comes to game launches, popularity is always a double-edged sword. Every developer dreams of launching a game that players will flock to in droves, whether the servers can actually handle the massive influx of players is another thing. The most recent example is Donkey Crew’s post-apocalyptic nomadic survival game, Last Oasis.

The game officially launched into Steam Early Access last week and soon rose to become the number one top-selling game on Steam. The incessant flood of gamers logging in to the game, however, was more than the servers could handle which forced the developers to temporarily shut down the game for seven days as they scramble to resolve server issues.

“Our team of engineers has been working incredibly hard to resolve the bottleneck with our master server, which prevents people from logging into the game properly,” said Donkey Crew Project Lead Florian Hofreither on Steam. “The team is doing their best to implement solutions as quickly as possible, but as you have seen yourselves, the connection problems continue to appear as players join. Therefore, we decided to take all servers offline to give our engineers time to investigate without new pressure for about seven days.”

Donkey Crew will be giving players a full refund regardless of how long they've played the game. You’ll find the recently-released update video below.
