Lord of Vermilion Arena Returns After Massive Overhaul

Japanese Card Game/MOBA hybrid Lord of Vermilion Arena is making a comeback. The game was shut down last year in its home market of Japan before ever making it to the West. It seems now that the game was not abandoned, instead developer Square Enix has taken the time to completely remake the game.

The new Lord of Vermillion Arena keeps the card game aspect of the original, but ditches the 3D camera style in favor of a traditional isometric MOBA view. While this change makes the game far less distinct visually, it should make it much more approachable. Anyone with MOBA or RTS experience should have a good handle of the controls right away.

Lord of Vermilion Arena still has no Western release plans, but a successful re-release in East Asia is a necessary first step if we are to get our hands on LOVA here in the US and Europe. Check out our preview page to learn more, or watch the embed gameplay video below (compliments of Steparu)
