Million Arthur Is Getting A Vive-Exclusive VR Game Next Year

Square Enix announced earlier this month that a Vive-exclusive VR version of its popular mobile card battle RPG, Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur, is in development. Scheduled to be released in Japan in spring of 2017, the game, dubbed "Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur VR," will feature much of the core gameplay of the mobile game, only in a VR environment. According to Siliconera, the game will let you experience the series's signature card battles, explore the game world in a 360° environment, and face off against "high-resolution" 3D bosses. Oh, and you'll be able to pat various heroines on the head in your base of operations.

According to MMOCulture, Square Enix showed off the first real gameplay footage of Million Arthur VR at this year's Tokyo Game Show. In it, we see a player choose cards with the Vive controllers and manually execute attacks by swinging the controller in the direction of the boss. It's a fairly cool concept and it adapts a style of gameplay that I wouldn't otherwise have thought of as VR-capable in a way that makes sense.

While the game is launching in Japan next spring, an international release has yet to be announced. Should it make it to the West, is this a game that you could see yourself playing in VR? I'm inclined to say yes.
