Nightingale Drops Another Gameplay Trailer With Commentary From Aaryn Flynn

Inflexion Games follows up on its new Nightingale Summer Game Fest 2022 trailer with yet another gameplay trailer for Future Games Show 2022. This time around, the studio’s very own CEO, Aaryn Flynn, offers up commentary on the game’s mechanics and how realm cards work in the upcoming shared-world Victorian Gaslamp survival game.

“The Realm Card system [is] a key mechanic in our game that allows players to access the portal network and explore the magical Fae realms. As a Realmwalker stranded in a mysterious and deadly new world, the Realm Cards are a way to access other realms. Players craft Realm Cards using magical materials they find in the environment and those cards are then used to activate portals which will then connect you to one of the many possible realms that exist in the Fae universe.”

Flynn further goes into detail on how different cards have different effects on the weather conditions, terrain, available resources, and enemies found in the destination realm. Combining multiple realm cards gives players access to an almost infinite variety of realms that they can explore alone or with their friends through shared-world play.

“We not only wanted to offer a way for players to discover everything that the realms have to offer, but also empower players with the ability to influence and control the nature of the realms that they explore,” said Flynn. “This, paired with a sophisticated procedural generation system, makes the possibilities for adventure across the Fae Realms almost limitless.”
