Palworld’s incredible success story continues to unfold as the Pokémon-inspired survival MMO breaks the 2 million concurrency mark. As of this writing, the record sits at 2,018,905 concurrent players. It’s still way behind PUBG: Battlegrounds’ all-time concurrency record, but it’s getting there.

Developer Pocket Pair also reports that the game has sold over 7 million copies barely a week after it launched on Steam and Xbox consoles. The studio is now scrambling to accommodate everyone and have made it their top priority before they move on to other less pressing, but equally important issues.

“Sales have far exceeded the development team’s expectations, and we are currently experiencing many problems due to excessive access congestion, among other challenges,” Pocket Pair reports. “We will prioritize improving this issue first, and then move on to implementing new in-game features.”

Once they’ve got the congestion issues sorted out, they’ll then begin to address other critical issues which may entail multiple rollbacks. The team also plans to roll out config improvements and enhance the AI and pathing behavior of their gun-toting critters after they’ve fixed everything that needs fixing.
