Star Citizen Previews New Ore Refining Ship And Alpha 3.17 Features
Cloud Imperium Games gives the Star Citizen community their first look at a new dedicated ore refining ship called the MISC Expanse in the latest episode of their Inside Star Citizen video series. The ship is currently in the very early stages of development and is designed to fill a gap in the current mining gameplay loop.
The MISC Expanse will allow players to refine space rocks while in the depths of space instead of hauling them from the mining zone to a planet-based refinery. Similar to other MISC ships, the Expanse features industry-themed aesthetics but with a distinctly unique look. They can also be piloted and operated by just one person which could be useful for groups thinking of assembling a mining fleet.
Aside from the new MISC Expanse, the team also previewed some of the features coming in Alpha 3.17. These include ship-to-ship refueling, the first iteration of the Quanta system, and new hospitals, as well as a whole host of quality-of-life improvements.
A release date has yet to be announced for Alpha 3.17 but, in the meantime, you can check out a visual overview of its contents and the MISC Expanse in the video below.
