It’s been a long and winding journey for Torchlight 3 but the game is finally hours away from full release. Torchlight 3 was first announced as a free-to-play MMORPG back in August 2018 when it was still called Torchlight Frontiers. The title was later changed to Torchlight 3 in January 2020 along with the decision to release the game as a buy-to-play online multiplayer ARPG instead.

The game launched into Early Access in June 2020 and has since been updated with a ton of new content, thousands of bug fixes, as well as significant changes to gameplay including a full revamp of skill progression and the Relic Class System.

“Lessons were learned, and fixes applied,” reminisced Echtra Games CEO Max Schaefer. “We took your bug reports and feedback to heart, and hope that our progress during Early Access has been a testament to our commitment to you, the Torchlight community. But we’re not done yet; we know that a game never really feels complete and we are extremely excited to share what is coming up for Torchlight III as we move towards launch and beyond.”

Torchlight 3 will officially be launching later today on Steam for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The game will also be launching on Nintendo Switch later this year. The new launch trailer is waiting for you just after the break. You can also head over to the game's Steam News Page for more info.
