Trion Worlds Lays Off 15 Employees Including Archeage Associate Producer

trion worlds logoIt’s a difficult time for Trion Worlds this week as the California-based studio is hit with a round of layoffs just a few days after the launch of Defiance 2050 and nearly a month after acquiring Gazillion Entertainment. A total of 15 employees have been affected by the layoffs including ArcheAge Associate Producer Seraphina Brennan and QA/CSR Jessica Pate.

Here’s Trion Worlds CEO Scott Hartsman’s official statement:

“We've had to make the difficult decision to eliminate 15 positions throughout the company. We are extremely grateful for those who have been impacted for their hard work and contributions to Trion Worlds, and will be offering each of them severance benefits and job placement assistance. This is not related to the performance of the individuals affected nor of Trion Worlds as a whole, but was necessary to enable us to develop the upcoming projects that we have planned in the best ways possible.”

In addition to the layoffs, ArcheAge Community Manager Joe “Muzzy” Brogno also voluntarily left the studio to pursue other opportunities. “Another chapter in my life draws me from Trion and into a whole new adventure,” said Brogno. “I’m off to pursue one of my other passions, and if I am successful, it’s largely because of all that I have learned from being your CM on ArcheAge.” Linda “Brasse” Carlson will be taking over as interim Community Manager.
