Undead Labs Head And Founder Jeff Strain Launches A New Studio And Game Development Academy

The new studio and academy aims to discover new talent in relatively unknown areas and give them opportunities to build a career in the game industry.

“As anyone who has played State of Decay knows, big ideas don’t always come from the biggest cities or the flashiest neighborhoods. Sometimes the heroes come from places like Marshall or Spencer’s Mill. That’s why game development needs a bigger base, where the know-how, grit, and ideas of even more people can find their way to the public. [. . .] Maybe even someone with the vision for the next State of Decay is out there just waiting for the right opportunity!”

According to the official announcement, Strain will continue to lead the studio with the help of Microsoft and Xbox. Undead Labs is the developer of the zombie survival game State of Decay and its sequel, State of Decay 2, which is still on track for release on Steam in 2020.
