Valheim will be joining the growing list of games available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers starting next month. The Viking survival game’s addition to the video game subscription service was first announced during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase back in June 2022 with a release window of early 2023. That window has now been narrowed down to March.

While the Valheim’s popularity may have waned since its incredibly successful early access launch in February, it still boasts a peak daily concurrency of around 40,000 players and has sold over 10 million copies to date. It’s arrival on the Xbox Game Pass will open the game up to a brand-new audience which will likely add more to those numbers.

Meanwhile, the game’s developer Iron Gate Studio is currently working on a new lava-filled zone called Ashlands and a new NPC and questline called Hildir’s Quest. The new zone is expected to open its doors by the end of the year or early 2024, while the new NPC will be making its way into the game way before then.
