WEBZEN Is Also Shutting Down ELOA In October

It seems "Triple-Action" doesn't always mean "Triple-Fun," as it was announced today that ELOA is joining ASTA Online in shutting down next month as a part of what appears to be WEBZEN's attempt to clean house. The reason that the title is being shut down is that, despite WEBZEN's best efforts, it could not build a large enough community around the game to keep it online.

Much like the events that are being held in the time leading up to ASTA's shutdown, increased experience, gold drops, and reinforcement chance events will be live in ELOA until the game shuts down next month. Furthermore, the cash shop has already been closed, as ASTA's has been.

At the time of its shutdown, ELOA will have been online for eleven months, having entered Open Beta on November 17th of last year. The title undoubtedly suffered slightly due to Inspirit Online—a private server based on a Beta version of the game that appeared to be fairly legitimate at the time—and poor first impressions that were formed based on the large number of bugs that were present, including one in which an event didn't fire off properly, leaving players stuck in the tutorial. Regardless, it is unfortunate that the official service is being taken offline as soon as it is.
