World of Titans, formerly known as Titan Reach (and TitanReach before that), is undergoing another major change as developer Archage Studios (not to be confused with ArcheAge) revealed its plans to completely overhaul the fantasy MMORPG’s gameplay in time for its release this November.

According to the developers, the full release build will still focus primarily on PvE content with three different factions, five unique classes, and an array of endgame content including raids and legendary quest lines. Don’t worry though, PvP enthusiasts will also get their fair share of content in the form of duels and guild vs. guild warfare.

They’re also looking to start closed beta testing soon for backers and a few lucky hopefuls, although they’ve yet to reveal details about the playtest.

World of Titans’ development journey has been a rather tumultuous affair with the game’s original developers, Square Root Studios, facing financial challenges right from the get-go after a failed Kickstarter campaign. Back then, the game was still called TitanReach, without the space.

Despite the lack of funding, the studio still managed to launch the game into limited early access, although they were eventually forced to suspend development as the money finally ran out. An angel investor later decided to fully fund the game, but accusations of misappropriated funds saw development come to a screeching halt yet again.

The game was then picked up by a relatively unknown developer called Archage Studios who renamed it as Titan Reach. Square Root, however, promptly came out of the woodwork to accuse Archage of stealing the IP, which the latter denied.

Titan Reach later got rebranded as World of Titans as Archage launched a demo on Steam that was prematurely pulled from the platform and its own Kickstarter campaign, which, like the original, ended up a complete flop. That brings us to today’s announcement of the upcoming overhaul and launch date. We’ll let you know if something else comes up between now and then.
