Astellia Online Is Back From The Dead As A Blockchain MMO Called Astel Of Atra

Studio 8 has resurrected Astellia Online as a blockchain game called Astel of Atra a little over a year since the original game and its battle royale spinoff Astellia Royal shut down in the west. The game’s developers describe the newly relaunched game as a global NFT MMORPG and began pre-selling NFT Astels since spring and the new GELIXIR token that’s used extensively in the game earlier this month.

Astel of Astra’s development roadmap promises more NFTs, NFT Breeding, new dungeons, a PvP Arena expansion, and improvements to the blockchain MMORPG’s rune system by the end of the year. Even more NFT Astels, along with the introduction of a staking system, a boss party dungeon, and new class items, are also planned for release in the first half of 2023.

It’s worth noting that while Astellia Online was a fairly good MMORPG when it first launched globally in 2019 but it couldn’t really compete with other AAA titles in the genre which eventually led to its closure in October 2021. Now that it’s back, it’s future remains a mystery especially since the cryptocurrency market isn’t doing particularly well these past few months but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on how things turn out for Astel of Atra.
