Final Fantasy XIV Sets the Date for 2017 Starlight Celebration!

Final Fantasy XIV's annual holiday celebration, known as the Starlight Celebration, comes back around for its 2017 run. Unlike other events that are listed as "re-runs," so that players who missed them the first time around can experience them, and players who have already done them cannot do them a second time, the Starlight Celebration is one FFXIV event that has something new every year.

Unfortunately, all the information we have for now is that the Starlight Celebration will run from December 15th, 2017, until December 31st, 2017 - starting at 12:00 AM PST, and ending at 7:00 AM PST.

Additionally, players who are looking into get into FFXIV, and have North American Square Enix accounts, can purchase all non-collectors editions for 50% their base price. That means A Realm Reborn is just $10, instead of its usual $20. Stormblood (which comes with Heavensward auto-bundled) is just $20, instead of its usual $40. The Complete Edition is just $30, instead of its usual $60. Those players who have been taking a break from FFXIV, and waiting for Stormblood to come down in price, or those players looking to get into the game, may find this sale attractive.

While the official FFXIV Twitter says that this sale is to celebrate the recent GameAwards, the timing of this sale can also potentially be due to the cyclical nature of Final Fantasy XIV's playerbase, which we talked about here.
