There seems to be no end to New World’s parade of Blood of the Sands previews as Amazon Game Studios continues talking up the new season in another Forged in Aeternum video. In the latest episode of the long-running developer video series, the team shares more information about the changes coming to the First Light territory map when Season 2 officially begins in just a few short days.

The team starts the video off by assuring everyone that all of their items and furniture in First Light will automatically be moved into storage. You’ll be able to access the storage to remove items but you won’t be able to put new ones in while the changes are being deployed. However, territories and player homes in the map will be removed and its cost will be refunded.

Players can also look forward to meeting a familiar character in the revamped zone. The huntress Adiana isn’t happy with what you did to the Motherwell and has surrounded First Light with a bramble wall. She’s also hell-bent on eradicating all humans to get rid of the corruption since she believes that they’re the weak link that’s constantly allowing the corruption back into the world.

Blood of the Sands will kick off a darker narrative that will mark her transition to an archvillain and she’ll be changing Aeternum as part of her newfound beliefs.

“[…] It’s a very fun carrot that we’ve put in front of the player to lead them through these stories and to be able to surprise folks and build a more chaotic entry into Gods,” said Storytelling Producer Johannes Rasinkangas.

Season 2: Blood of the Sands is set to kick off on July 6th featuring new characters, the new Sandwurm Elite Trial, the new Devourer Sandwurm heartrune, major PvP changes, and a new battle pass. In the meantime, you can watch the full “First Light” Forged in Aeternum video below to learn more about the said changes.
