Rumor: Aeria Games Cancels Publishing Agreement For Bless

According to a source from MMORPG.com Aeria Games and Gamigo have cancelled their contract to publish the much beleaguered MMORPG Bless due to "quality concerns". Aeria / Gamigo had requested Bless to be reveloped with action combat in mind and a revised version of the game was expected to launch on Aeria Games for Western markets. Even if the NA/EU publishing contract is cancelled, Neowiz could still get Bless released by either self publishing it or working with another publisher if they choose to.

Bless has had quite a history of issues. The Korean version of the game wasn't faring too well and merged their servers down to 1 this year and the Russian version of the game shut down for "revisions" on May 25th. The Japanese closed beta for Bless did include some changes to the core gameplay, namely the removal of skill books and the introduction of auto-pathing. From my experience with the Russian version, the game had severe optimization issues that made it practically unplayable at times. If the North American release gets scrapped all together, I suspect Neowiz may just cancel the project, despite sinking over $60M into it, making it one of the most expensive MMORPGs ever developed.

Update: Neowiz confirms that Aeria has cancelled their contract. Neowiz is still focused on releasing the game across various regions (Source: Inven)
