Seatribe Dole Out Justice To Haven and Hearth Exploit Abusers

Players and lurkers of the Haven and Hearth forum logged in yesterday to find something shocking. The developer Jorb had posted what looked like an abbreviated version of a trial. A village had discovered how to exploit a bug in the game to get over walls. They then used this exploit to raze two villages.

As penance, the players that abused that bug had their village "selectively nuked" and their characters deleted. The players who had their villages razed have been given compensation in the form of one free month of subscription. The player who reported the bug, Headshot, was given a "dev cape," as well.

So what was this exploit? Mentioned in a small set of patch notes below the court proceedings, as it were, is a note that they "fixed a bug with which walls could be jumped using chairs." Next time you ask why you can't sit in chairs in a game, just remember that some other player might use that chair to get somewhere they shouldn't be.

I've been playing MMOs since back in the day when my only option was to play Clan Lord on the family Mac. Since then, I've played too many MMOs to count. I generally play niche, sometimes even bizarre, MMOs and I've probably logged the most hours in Linkrealms prior to its current iteration. Currently bouncing between a few games.
