Shroud Of The Avatar Raises $100K In Lord British’s Birthday Telethon
Shroud of the Avatar held a special fundraising telethon yesterday to commemorate the birthday of none other than Richard “Lord British” Garriot himself. Lord British’s birthday was on July 4th but since everybody was probably busy with barbecues and fireworks, Portalarium opted to hold the telethon on July 6th instead.
Lord British’s birthday telethon ran from 1pm to 7pm PT which, aside from the usual round of developer deep dives, Q&A’s, and item giveaways, also had the devs dancing, singing, or drinking shots for every $2500 raised. The 6-hour fundraising program managed to achieve all of its stretch goals and raise $100,000 of funds. Meanwhile, the team’s SeedInvest funding campaign is still in full swing.
