Shroud of the Avatar Is Getting A Visual Makeover, Hosts Shooter Jenning Album Release Party
Notice anything different in Shroud of the Avatar this week? No? Well, Lord British’s fantasy MMORPG has just gotten a visual makeover with Release 56. Additional improvements are scheduled to roll out with Release 57 in August.
“We have started overhauling some of our global systems to dramatically improve the visual quality throughout the game. The main focus is on shadows, lighting, and full screen visual effects. While many of these changes will not arrive until R57, a few have made their way into R56, including improvements to distant shadows in the top two quality modes. To see the difference, simply toggle between “Good” and “Best” in an outdoor scene.”
The devs will also be hosting an in-game album launch party for singer-songwriter Shooter Jennings’ latest album called “Shooter”. Players also stand to win exclusive items from Shooter by completing a series of quests which will culminate in the official launch party on July 31st 7PM CDT where they’ll get to listen to the new album in advance.
