Skull And Bones Announces Free Week With Unrestricted Access To Season 2’s Content

Ubisoft wants to give everyone a chance to check out Skull and Bones’ second season with a week-long free-play event starting on May 30. The free period will run until June 6 and will be open to new players and those who’ve previously taken advantage of the free trial.

It’s unclear whether you’ll be able to continue your progress from the free trial, but any progress made during this week’s free-play event will carry over should you decide to purchase the game on any of the available platforms. The game is also still on sale at 50% off on all platforms until further notice.

Obviously, the goal of the free week is to bring more players in and hopefully bolster the playerbase enough to get old players to return. Since it’s launch in February, the multiplayer pirate game has lost a good chunk of its playerbase across all platforms, and if the promise of revamped endgame mechanics isn’t enough to get players to come back, maybe the promise of meeting new players might do the trick. It’s highly unlikely though given the community’s response to the upcoming free-play event.

In any case, Season 2 is slated to begin on May 28 with a pair of new pirate baddies to take down, new solo game modes, and more flexible endgame systems.
