Blade and Soul has barely been in a release state for a week and NCSoft has already announced the game's first expansion, Rising Waters. The core of this update is the new four- or six-player Heroic Dungeon, Bloodshade Harbor. It is a max level dungeon that pits players against the Blackram Pirates and "Poharan’s boss, Admiral Hae Mujin." It can also be played as a 24-player dungeon called Nightshade Harbor.

A new single-player Heroic Dungeon called Mushin's Tower is also being added. The first seven floors of increasingly difficult solo content will be included in Rising Waters. More floors will be added with later updates.

The first five Hongmoon levels will be added, allowing players to advance beyond level 45. Each Hongmoon level will give players more skill points. Unlocking the Hongmoon levels will require the completion of a special quest.

For PvP fans, the PvP preseason will begin when the update launches. A "new in-game UI" will allow players to see how they compare to other players. Taking part in the preseason will allow players to earn Zen Beans.

Rising Waters is scheduled for launch on February 10th. As the launch date draws nearer, NCSoft will begin revealing more information.
