US Law Firm Files Class-Action Lawsuit Against CD Projekt Red Over Cyberpunk 2077

cyberpunk 2077 gun barrel bannerCD Projekt Red and parent-company CD Project S.A. is now facing a class-action suit for allegedly lying to investors about the state of Cyberbunk 2077 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Rosen Law Firm filed the lawsuit last week seeking to recover damages on behalf of the company’s shareholders.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, the suit claims that the CD Projekt Red management made false and misleading statements about the actual state of the game, and failed to disclose to the studio’s shareholders that the game was “virtually unplayable” on last-gen consoles “due to an enormous amount of bugs,”. This resulted in Sony’s removal of the game from the PlayStation Store and Sony, Microsoft, Best Buy, the studio, and other resellers being forced to offer full refunds which have negatively impacted the studio’s reputation.

The Rosen Law Firm is a New York-based firm that specializes in handling corporate misconduct and securities fraud, the same firm that handled the Activision Blizzard class-action lawsuit back in 2019.

A Polish attorney is also considering filing a lawsuit against CD Projekt Red in the studio’s home country.
