Sony Pulls Cyberpunk 2077 From PlayStation Store, Offers Full Refunds Along With Microsoft & Best Buy

cyberpunk 2077 keyart yellow bannerLet Cyberpunk 2077 be a lesson to developers not to release a game when it’s not ready and that it’s not okay to order additional mandatory work hours for your employees just to get it out before Christmas. Since the highly-awaited sci-fi game launched last week, CD Projekt Red has been peppered with complaints about bugs, crashes, and poor performance on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Things have gotten so bad that CDPR themselves have encouraged last-gen console users to ask for refunds.

Apparently, a lot of dissatisfied customers are asking for their money back because Sony has decided to pull the game from the PlayStation Store and have started giving full refunds to anyone who requests it. “SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice,” said Sony.

Microsoft is also offering full refunds to Xbox users who bought the game, along with Best Buy and CD Projekt Red. PC users, however, seem to be satisfied with the game regardless of the bugs. CDPR promises to have most of the issues fixed by February next year.

Meanwhile, the studio's employees are questioning their leadership about the launch state of the game. According to Bloomberg, frustrated and angry employees fired pointed questions at the studio's board during an internal call. One employee asked why the board announced back in January that the game was “complete and playable,” while another asked what they felt about making a game about corporate exploitation while forcing their employees to work overtime.

On the bright side, we did get a lot of good memes out of this whole fiasco.
