V Rising Announces 48-Hour Downtime In Preparation For Version 1.0’s Release

V Rising will soon be rising from the coffin of early access and out into the promising night of full release on May 8. Before it makes the leap, the vampire survival game is going to be taking a short break when Stunlock Studios pulls the servers offline for a two-day maintenance in preparation for launch day.

The studio notes that only the official realms will be going offline and that players will still be able to jump into player-run servers during the 48-hour downtime which will begin at 5:30 a.m. PDT on May 6 and end at roughly the same time on May 8, assuming that no last-minute issues pop up.

Those playing on the official realms will unfortunately need to start from scratch and create a new character once Version 1.0 goes live. You’ll still be able to access and play your old characters but you’ll only be able to do so on a separate Steam branch.

More information on the pre-launch downtime can be found on the V Rising Steam page.
