Nightingale Won’t Be Getting New Multiplayer Features As Focus Shifts To Offline Mode

When Nightingale was first announced, it was originally billed as a full-featured portal-hopping survival MMO. It was then scaled down to a shared-world multiplayer game but launched with a whole host of server issues that players were all but begging for an offline mode if only to escape the persistent lag and frequent disconnects.

Inflexion Games promptly got to work on an offline mode which is still in development with no release date or timeline in sight. The studio reports that it’s now functioning internally but still needs more backend work and polishing before its ready for public release. They’re also still working on getting multiplayer vault delves to work offline.

Unfortunately, won’t be adding new multiplayer features until they can get the offline mode out. This is to ensure that there won’t be too big of a disparity between online and offline features. That being said, they do plan to add new content and gameplay systems including an expansion of the building system with the possibility of adding a power system for structures. Players can also look forward to new biomes, creatures, and weapons in future updates.

In the meantime, you can learn more about Inflexion’s plans for Nightingale in the recent Discord Q&A here.
