MechWarrior Online Finally Comes To Steam December 11th

Piranha Games have announced that their online multiplayer mech simulator MechWarrior Online will finally be reaching Steam on December 11th. Players will be able to stomp, laser, and rocket their way to victory using the ever popular Steam client at that time. The game is part of a fairly niche genre and it is likely that they are heading to Steam with the intention of increasing visibility and, hopefully, their playerbase.

In the meantime, the team at Piranha Games is working on a major rebalance of the game, the details of which you can find here. The recent weapon and equipment changes on the test server are largely going to stay. In the future, they plan to further the changes made by enhancing information warfare with "additional features."

I've been playing MMOs since back in the day when my only option was to play Clan Lord on the family Mac. Since then, I've played too many MMOs to count. I generally play niche, sometimes even bizarre, MMOs and I've probably logged the most hours in Linkrealms prior to its current iteration. Currently bouncing between a few games.
