Pirahna Games Launch European MechWarrior Online Server, Oceanic Soon

Pirahna Games have begun a process of "global server expansion" for MechWarrior Online. They have begun this process by placing a server in Strassbourg, France, which will act as their official European server. Statistics released with the announcement indicate that this new server has reduced players' ping by upwards of 75%, the average ping reduction for all players sitting around 50%.

For those in other parts of the world that are still affected by high ping, Pirahna Games are hoping to have Oceanic servers online early next month. The ultimate goal is to "tighten competition for [MechWarrior Online's] core fan base on a global level by implementing the new server locations," making use of a "global, state-of-the-art network."

Pirahna Games have also seen fit to release an infographic of player statistics. Included are statistics such as player earnings per match by region, with European players earning more per match, and average amount of mechs owned by region, where Americans own nearly twice as many on average as Europeans. The full infographic is included below.

I've been playing MMOs since back in the day when my only option was to play Clan Lord on the family Mac. Since then, I've played too many MMOs to count. I generally play niche, sometimes even bizarre, MMOs and I've probably logged the most hours in Linkrealms prior to its current iteration. Currently bouncing between a few games.
